Fix Google sign-in issues and add a password to your account
This guide helps with two common problems:
- Google sign-in is not working
- you signed up with Google and now want to use a password too
Start with the simple checks
- 1Make sure your phone or computer time is correct.
- 2Allow popups for the sign-in attempt.
- 3Try again in a private or incognito window.
- 4If your browser blocks cookies very strictly, allow them for the sign-in attempt.
Always start from the normal login page
Use the login page instead of an old bookmarked link.
- If you normally sign in with Google, choose the Google option there.
- If you want to add a password, type the same email address you used with Google.
If you first signed up with Google
You can add a password to that same account.
- 1Enter your email on the login page.
- 2If the site sees that your account started with Google, it offers to send you a verification email.
- 3Open the email and follow the link.
- 4Choose a password.
- 5After that, you can sign in with Google or with your email and password.
If the email never arrives
- check spam and promotions folders
- make sure you entered the same email used for your Google account
- request a new email if the old one has expired
If the link no longer works
Go back to the login page and ask for a fresh email.
When to contact support
Contact support if you still cannot sign in after:
- trying again in a clean browser session
- asking for a new email
- checking that you are using the correct email address
Include the error message you saw and the browser you were using.
